Resilient Communities
A beginning set of resources
We get calls and e-mail everyday from folks working on resilience. They're looking for connection with other people, new ideas, new ways of doing things. We want this resource site to be one way for people to find what they need.
Its not going to be fancy or slick -- but hopefully it will help you get resources to help you in your work. We're including books, articles and links. We've got an easy way for you to tell us what you are doing so we can add it to the mix. We need to communicate and share if we are going to build resiliency.
There are four sections to this Resource Index:
How To Think About Resilience. These materials will help you look at different ways of thinking about resilience in our personal, family, community and planetary lives.
How to Talk About Resilience. Or better yet, how to talk and listen about things important to you. These materials include different resources for helping people talk with each other -- and truly listen -- as we do this work.
How to Make It Happen. This section will share ideas for action. What are people doing that's working? What have folks tried and learned from? What does make a difference.
What's Happening In Your Life and Community? This section is actually a form -- we need to hear from you. What are you doing that's working, and what's not? Tell us what you're up to, so we can pass it on to others -- that way we can all learn and be supported by each other.
We know these divisions are somewhat arbitrary -- but they are a start at giving some structure to a massive amount of information which we can turn into knowledge to live our lives.
And apologies for all the material we don't have covered in here yet. This is an evolving site -- we're building it as fast as you and we can.
Let us know what's not here that should be by filling out and submitting this Web Form for Resources
Thanks.
